Last week in my Utah Studies class we were winding down on learning about the 60's and 70's so I had this great idea of having a Hippie Day in celebration of the time era. I was pretty excited! I even dressed up and wore a bandanna and made a peace necklace....I should have taken a picture. I had a mini-woodstock (minus the drugs and such) Many of my students brought their violins, trumpets, saxaphones, and voices and contributed....others just brought their dancing skills and peaceful attitudes. We had a meditation circle...where we had a mini-lava lamp to help in the mood. I could see the students connecting with their innerselves and becoming more aware of the hippie spirit. It was fun:)
This day got me to thinking.....
We could have a pretty crazy hippie party ourselves. Erika could provide tie-die shirts....those of you with muscial talents could share. I would bring my recorder or harmonica and share my skills... Guitar hero i'm sure would be appropriate or rock band. It's time to do something different with our lives...right? Time to take some chances and explore our innerselves...
Peace my friends
